A Focuse is an object that either generates Mana or can store Mana. There are some crystals, magical devices and modern devices that can store and hold onto Mana. These items are generally called "Focuses" as they allow a caster to skip the gathering phase of casting a spell and allow the to focuse on the actual spell itself. Focuses are somewhat common, but they tend to be only good for mondaine spells. It is rare to find a powerful focuse.
