The Ether-Net is an enigma of the modern world. No one is sure who exactly created it, or exactly how it works. Through the use of computers, one if able to connect with other people around the world. Though this seems an easy technology those who know the dark side of the Ether-Net tend to hold theirs tongues. The Ether-Net is much more then a system of computer networks communicating with one another to allow users to gain access to information and pass it along to other users. The Ether-Net is a portal into a complex, alternate plain of existence.

This alternate plain can be accesses in many different ways, many of which have been lost through time. The most common way is with a Computer or a Deck with a valid Avatar that is connected to a Node or Network. Most areas have Ether-Nodes that allow users to gain access to the Ether-Net. Others gain access by actually entering the Ether-Net through the use of magic or ritual. These beings are able to access the same information those that use a computer can with the added bonus of actually being able to travel through the Ether Nodes. Others still gain access to the Ether-Net in other ways.

Those that travel through the Ether know it to be a dangerous place. Becoming lost is very simple and finding your way from place to place safely is very difficult. Also, there are creatures that live within the Ether. These creatures are mostly nonviolent and pose little threat, while others will attack anything they see.
